Maybe nobody will read this, but still gotta write it down. Jump over a bit for tl;dr. Since about June/July, I've got a growing feeling that I'm stuck in an endless grind without any goal in sight. Just farming stuff and trying to improve any PB, or at least match what I've already done. Don't get me wrong, this approach to MS is totally okay! But even though it was (and still is) fun for me, and not completely fruitless (just in August: slight eff PB + almost-GM in PvP + 4x NG time PBs + equip L33->L36), the longer it went on, the more frustrating it became. ...first, Custom Talents. So now the ultimate goal of metagame is some RNG gambling mess? Spending 3M equivalent to potentially get something worth 350k? Upgrading stuff without control what you get? Having to invest ALOT before it becomes useful? That's BS. Fortunately, it can be completely ignored at my level, so I did just that. ...second, certain top casual player's thoughts I have read one day on his profile. Spot on. ...and third, the global quests. I hate how frustration is an inherent consequence of this event mechanics. Constantly being compared to all the top dogs. Losing half the points just because I was asleep and did my fav and best quest 3h later. Having to play every hour or losing points. Getting super bad RNG and staring furiously at "1/10 int 120%" (after 20 games) or "0/3 exp ws" (after 3 hours) progress, while horde of other players already completed the quest. (I'm glad I deliberately didn't touch any skull customs, because that could've ended with laptop flying through a window. I respect and admire certain person maniacal persistence for them, though.) Rant over, to the point. Since I find the arena event boring and tedious, unless something changes... but more importantly because I play the game for fun, yet recently I'm mostly getting frustration... I'll be skipping S129. Instead, I'll just play what I want, when I want - or not play at all. Holiday(4) time! PS. Will I be back in October? Honestly, I have no idea yet.
